Cellport Licenses Worldwide Telematics Patents to Continental AG

Patented Handset Connectivity and Mobile Technology Portfolios Enhance Wireless-to-Vehicle Interfaces

Boulder, CO:  Cellport Systems, creator of patented wireless-to-vehicle Telematics portfolios, has granted Continental AG (Continental) worldwide licenses to use Cellport’s Handset Connectivity Systems (HCS) and Mobile Network Technology (MNT) products.  These two patented platforms enable Continental to supply OnStar, Mercedes Benz and others with enhanced wireless-to-vehicle connectivity for a growing number of Telematics-capable cars and trucks.

Continental, a leading supplier of automotive electronics, brakes, chassis systems and components, acquired the rights to Cellport’s patents as a sub-licensee under Motorola’s master license agreement when they purchased Motorola’s Automotive and Telematics business units in July 2006.

Industry analysts report the Telematics equipment sector is currently a $1.5 billion market and is forecasted to exceed $3 billion by 2010.
