Motorola, Cellport Announce License and Technology
Collaboration in Telematics

has completed an extensive licensing agreement with Cellport Systems,
a world leader in providing universal connectivity solutions for automotive
wireless
communications and telematics systems. Motorola will collaborate with
Cellport on the development and promotion of Cellport Connect, a communications
connectivity platform that will simplify and broaden the implementation
of universal interface for portable wireless phones brought into the vehicle.
Using Cellport Connect, Motorola will extend its current telematics portfolio
to provide hands-free support for a variety of cellular phones including
different models and brands of manufacture. Through Motorola's strong
market position in telematics and adoption of Cellport's universal connectivity
API, a rich opportunity for developers will be provided to create new
solutions and products for consumers.
